Gift Registries

One question we have been asked several times is what do you need/want in your home? Currently, we have a mix of things from college, post college apartment, and some items we have bought together. We really don't need much...but are looking forward to replacing some older items.

We have registered at a few places with examples of items we would enjoy having in our home.

Winterhawk Pottery

We currently have six matching plates and bowls made by a local potter and would love to add more to our set. John Winterhawk and his wife Ann Marie have their store in Farmington, Georgia on Highway 441. Winterhawk Pottery does have an online site where you can see examples of their work and order items. But for right now, here is their site http://www.winterhawkpottery.com/

I met with Ann Marie last week and she has arranged a system for ordering pottery for Doug and I. The day I visited the shop they were firing two of their kilns and I got a sneak peak at some of the new pottery, complete with it's fiery glow. We talked about the different pieces Doug and I would like to add to our kitchen. Our goal is to have enough plates and bowls to host his siblings and their significant others. :-) And I saw several serving bowls and platters that I really liked and could completely see in our kitchen.

Ann Marie has developed the following chart to show the pieces we would love to add to our collection with prices of each piece and the quantity too. As people order different pieces, she will check them off on her sheet. When ordering, please let Ann Marie or John know that you are ordering something for Doug and Morgan Wedding May 31st.

Lowe's: Their site can be a bit tricky to find, but once you do it is fairly easy to use. Follow the attached site or do a site search for gift registry. Enter Morgan Edwards or Doug Jones, Georgia. Then click on Morgan Edwards & Doug Jones Wedding 2008-05-31 Georgia. We couldn't add several things...light bulbs, the energy efficient ones for most of the rooms in our house, these are the following item numbers 275632 qty 4, 80424 qty 4, 275658 qty 4, and 236707 qty 1; a ceramic blue bird feeder; 3 tall oval shaped plastic trash cans w/no lid for recycling; and a 9ft light green step ladder. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/GRHome.do

IKEA: I had my very first experience at the IKEA in Atlanta this past Friday. I absolutely love it!! If we could register their, then I would only register at IKEA. They have absolutely everything you could need in a home. However, they do not have any type of registry system. We would like to buy our bed linens (master, guest, & futon), curtains (5 rooms), blinds(5 rooms), light fixtures, and wine glasses there. So, the easiest way we have thought of using IKEA is through gift cards. Their website suggests calling 1-800-434-IKEA to purchase gift cards. I am pretty sure you can also purchase them in the store. http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/IkeaNearYouView?storeId=12&catalogId=11001&langId=-1&StoreName=homeshopping#4
If you do decide to purchase items from the above stores, they all have suggested asking guests to include a gift receipt in case items are duplicated or a different item is preferred. So, if it is not too much trouble, then please include a gift receipt.

Pier 1: We tried to register, but they informed us that they no longer offer wedding registries. Phone your local chapter to file a complaint. :-)

These are just some ideas. The most important gift for us is for you to celebrate with us on our wedding day. We look forward to seeing you soon.
