Mema (Doug's grandmother) is an amazing baker! This summer I have been experimenting in the kitchen with some of her recipes. As some of you know, I definitely can follow a recipe but am very likely to substitute an ingredient or three or fudge on a measurement or add something not called for. Sometimes, the dish comes out really well but then I am not 100% sure of what I did so that I can't always replicate it. :-) Makes things fun in the kitchen!
So far we have successfully made a caramel cake and a yellow cake with chocolate icing (Evelyn's yummy recipe).
